If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook or my real Facebook or have ever spent any amount of time with me ever, you are well aware of my unabashed, unconditional, undying love for Ben Folds. Combined, Benny-Boo and I have been married 6 times, created 5 offspring, and recorded zero albums together, but trust me when I say this: when I’m in the car with my copy of Whatever and Ever Amen, we harmonize like nobody’s business. The only thing as good as a Ben Folds album is a Ben Folds 5 album, and the only thing better than that is the first new Ben Folds 5 album in 12 years. And the only thing better than that is a crowd-funded first new Ben Folds 5 album in 12 years. Because Ben is a good music boyfriend, I gave him some of my money and I think you should, too.

And because I would LOVE to reduce the number of degrees of separation between us, I made art, which I’m just certain will be the album cover once everything’s said and done:

I kind of want to reveal just how much of a Ben Folds stalker I am (like, he’s prominently featured in my “Hero Worship” Pinterest board, I listen daily to my “All Ben, All Day” playlist on Grooveshark, I’m pretty sure that at least 30% of all my tweets have something BF-related in them, plus my desktop image is a picture of him flipping me off) but I don’t want anyone to get the wrong impression. I don’t have the time, money or energy required to muster up the kind of crazy it takes to be a real stalker. I guess that makes me just a plain ol’ boring fangirl.

Mostly, you should be advised that, in addition to this project, Ben has recently started using his Facebook page as a blog with some really amazing stuff in it – stories and insights and noncommercial awesomeness that should make any musician or music lover very happy. So, I say: pledge the album, like the page so you can follow the blog, and rejoice.
